Who we are
Mission
To become the leading solution provider with in-house capabilities as developer, manufacturer and system integrator of high-tech electronics and telecommunications equipment and systems for military and commercial deployments in Pakistan and abroad.
Purpose of establishment
The basic purpose was to carry out research and development for production of high-tech telecommunication equipment for local military requirements. Acquiring high-tech telecommunication systems from developed countries to bridge the technological divide was an option MEI successfully availed and integrated into its umbrella over time — alongside research, development and manufacturing of its own equipment, development of human resource and the provision of job opportunities to scientists, researchers, engineers and skilled staff, and in-country technical support and after-sales service backed by adequate stocks of spares and trained resources.
Objectives
Develop electronic equipment and systems, with local or foreign support, that meet or exceed customer requirements. Carry out manufacturing, assembly, testing and integration to deliver quality products and systems. Enhance marketing and sales activity to continuously improve revenue. Provide the technical support and services our customers need, and the administrative and organisational support MEI's operational elements depend on.

The Ministry of Defence acquired and leased the facility as MEI (Pvt) Ltd to support production of military radios, operating as a public-private partnership.
